Education Committee The Education Committee works with the Tribe’s Education Department and Tribal Council providing advice and communicating feedback from Tribal members on issues, policies and programs related to meeting the education needs of the Tribe. This work includes contacting Tribal members regarding educational needs, participation in Tribal and community-wide events to promote the education of Tribal members, and to hear and decide appeals from Tribal members regarding funding decisions effecting their participation in one the Education department’s many programs. The Education Committee consists of five to nine voting members. At a minimum, the Committee’s members must include two Tribal member students 18 years of age or older, a parent of a Tribal member student, at least one Tribal member and one member of Tribal Council. The Duties of the Education Committee include: Review and evaluate existing and proposed Education Program policies and make recommendations to Tribal Council for approval, denial and amendment
